Collective Interiors is a full-service interior design studio located in downtown Asheboro, North Carolina. From the beginning, Collective Interiors has been on a mission to bring color and design into client's homes. Born out of a love to create beautiful spaces and a desire to offer fresh design and beautiful decor to clients, Collective Interiors has always offered creative ideas to any design project. Our Philosophy

We believe a beautiful home is not created overnight. Rather, it evolves through thoughtful choices, carefully selected furnishings, and a balance of texture, scale, and color. We believe the most inviting spaces combine old and new, polished and relaxed, refined and livable.

Meet Amy

Amy Barney is the founder and principal designer of Collective Interiors, an award-winning interior design studio and home furnishings boutique based in Asheboro, North Carolina. Since founding the company in 2017, Amy has helped clients transform their homes into spaces that are both beautiful and deeply personal.

With a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design and Studio Art, as well as a Master of Library Science, Amy brings a unique blend of creativity, organization, and problem-solving to every project. Her love of color, layered patterns, collected interiors, and unexpected statement pieces allows her to create spaces that feel curated, vibrant, and authentic to each client's story.

Amy believes great design doesn't have to start with a blank slate. Whether incorporating a treasured heirloom, a bold wallpaper, a vintage find, or an inspiring piece of art, she enjoys using meaningful elements as jumping-off points for creating memorable interiors. She is equally passionate about maximizing small spaces, designing highly functional homes, and creating inviting vacation rentals that leave lasting impressions on guests.

In addition to offering full-service interior design, Collective Interiors features a thoughtfully curated retail shop filled with unique home décor, gifts, lighting, furniture, rugs, wallpaper, and designer fabrics.

Most recently, Collective Interiors was named the 2026 Retail Star by Home Accents Today, a prestigious national recognition honoring innovative and inspiring independent home furnishings retailers. The company was also voted 2026 Best of the Best: Interior Design Company by readers of The Courier-Tribune.
